About
About Waterloo Christmas Lights
A direct booking line for one vetted, insured holiday lighting installer serving Waterloo, Elmira and St. Jacobs.
Waterloo Christmas Lights is a booking line, not a lighting company, and it does not claim otherwise. It exists so that a Waterloo homeowner, landlord, condominium board or business that wants holiday lighting, or permanent roofline lighting, reaches one vetted, insured local installer directly, without being passed between several companies or added to a list.
The installer carries liability insurance, works to Ontario's fall-protection rules above three metres, uses LED product with a recognized certification mark, hangs seasonal lights on clips without screws, nails or staples, quotes in writing after seeing the property, and stays responsible for the display through the season. Your details go to that installer and nobody else.
Services are seasonal Christmas light installation, permanent soffit lighting, tree and landscape lighting, January takedown and storage, and commercial holiday lighting. Electrical work is not included: where a GFCI-protected outdoor outlet is missing, that is work for a licensed electrical contractor, and you are told so before the display is planned.
The local facts on this site were checked against the sources cited on each page: the City of Waterloo's heritage permit guidance and the MacGregor-Albert district plan, the City's events calendar, Enova Power and the Ontario Energy Board, Health Canada and the Electrical Safety Authority, Environment Canada's climate normals, and Ontario's construction regulation. Where a decision belongs to the City, such as a fixed track on a heritage house, the site says so.
The site is also plain about what a house needs. A modest split-level on a Beechwood crescent may look its finest with one wrapped tree and a lit porch, and that is what it will be quoted. A rental may be better served by permanent lighting the landlord controls than by a seasonal display tenants can unplug. A heritage porch near Waterloo Park may need nothing more than warm white along the eave and railings. The aim is a display that suits the house and the street, installed safely, not the largest possible invoice.
Some jobs are declined: roofs that cannot be worked safely, iced eaves, trees near overhead lines, rental or condo work without the owner's or board's approval, and displays the house's circuits cannot carry.
How this works
Call 289-513-7120 or send the form and your details go straight to the holiday lighting installer serving Waterloo, not to a list or call centre. In the November rush the crew is often on a roof and calls go to voicemail; the message reaches them immediately by text and email, and you can expect a call back the same day or the next working day. Next comes a short visit or a request for photos of the front of the house, the porch and any trees, and then a written quote covering the runs, the product, supplied or owned lights, and takedown and storage.
What we won't do
- Publish reviews we didn't earn. When we have them, they'll be real ones with names.
- Quote a firm price before someone has seen the job.
- Send anyone into your property who we would not have in our own.
